Bingo is a society game that has been engaging bingo players for hundreds of years dating back to the sixteenth century in Italy. The bingo game was initially played in the form of a national lottery and its fame has rapidly broadened across continents.
When the bingo game arrived in America, a toy salesman named Edwin Lowe saw its potential and changed the original bingo rules. He created more than 6000 of unique bingo cards which were redesigned to have five numbers by five number grids with the word bingo written across the top of the bingo cards. The new bingo tickets use many patterns in the form of letters, numbers and different shapes with a regular bingo being made by a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line.
In the UK the game is played on a bingo ticket with three lines and nine columns and they also have five numbers on each line with the remainder of the spaces remaining blank.
The difference between the bingo tickets used in US and the bingo cards used in the UK is that the latter version has no letters used and a bingo win consists of one line.
Bingo games are also played for two and three lines, with the three lines acknowledged as a full house or housie. Either version of the bingo game the bingo player wishes to play bingo still remains a fun and recreational game of luck.
The bingo game does not imply any skill or strategy being a simple undemanding game of luck with the objective of guessing the right numbers. It is comforting for the bingo players to sit and play the game while they hang out with the other players. For many, this is a great way to wind down after a hard day of work.
