The UK Gambling Commission at Work

November 30, 2006

The British Gambling Commission has issued the “License Conditions and Codes of Practice” in which it presents all the requirements that Internet operators have to meet in order to be granted a UK gambling license. All gaming operators that want to run a business in the UK will have to obtain a license from the Gambling Commission. The main objectives of this regulatory body are to prevent crime, to ensure a fair and open gambling environment and to protect children and other vulnerable categories. The code does not include information about the taxes that UK-based operators will have to pay to the British government.
