Chefs are no longer simple cooks. Thanks to America’s fondness of cooking and thanks to popular cable TV network cooking shows, chefs are now pop culture icons. To them Las Vegas and other gambling jurisdictions are great opportunities for exposure. That is why numerous celebrity chefs have opened signature restaurants in Las Vegas. Famous names include Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse. Even less known chefs are making a name for themselves simply because they are connected to the Las Vegas dining scene.
Mogavero had this to say: “There has been huge annual growth rate in the number of celebrity chefs. Representatives from the gaming companies are in every major city scouting for talent. Now they’re starting to go even deeper on the bench because people are becoming celebrity chefs because they were brought to Las Vegas.”
The main goal of any casino is to maximize its profits. They have made this into a science and now they are looking to food and beverage as a means to increase these profits and make that particular casino stand out.
Mogavero had this to say: “Gaming executives know this is a totally different game than $5.95 buffets. It’s about making real money. Food and beverage has become a competitive weapon for casinos to attract guests to the property and then to retain them.”
Casinos want to attract more and more players to their premises and keep them coming back. The only way to do so is to offer their patrons the most pleasurable experience possible. This includes upscale restaurants, but does not stop there. It also includes 24-hour snack shops and coffee venues, as well as cocktail service.
The main source of revenues for any casino is gambling. This has always been so. But nowadays casinos are also making a nice profit from restaurants, upscale retail establishments and showrooms. Sometimes the profits from these activities match and even surpass the profits made on the casino floor, from gambling alone.

The Hollywood Casino in Aurora, Illinois, is hosting Single Table Satellite Tournaments for the third consecutive year. These tournaments will take place every Sunday through March 11.
If you want to participate the buy-in is $90. The winner will be awarded an entry into the Super Satellite 80-player tournament that will take place on March 25th.
If you want to take part in the Super Satellite Tournament the buy-in is $500. The winner will be awarded $25,000 and an entry into the World Poker Tour Championship that will take place at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The tournament will start on April 21st and will end on April 27th. The winner will also receive $2,500 travel expenses.
