A simple Jacks or Better Strategy Guide

Using this strategy chart is extremely easy. All you have to do is compare your hand to the chart and decide accordingly. You should not discard the cards that match the highest cards on the chart. When you have found a match in the chart, keep that card combination and discard all other cards.
In order to understand the chart below you must first understand the vocabulary. You should definitely know what a “gap” means if you are going to play video poker. A hand will have a gap if you need a card to complete the straight that you have in your hand. That card cannot be placed at either end of your hand, but somewhere in the middle. If you need two cards to complete that straight, you have a hand with two gaps.
Strategy Card for Jacks or Better:
* Royal flush;
* Straight flush;
* Four of a kind;
* Four-card royal flush;
* Full house;
* Flush;
* Three of a kind;
* Straight;
* Four-card straight flush;
* Two pair;
* Pair of Jacks or better (high pair);
* Three-card royal flush;
* Four-card flush;
* 10’s, Jacks, Queens and Kings of different suits;
* Pair of 10’s or less (low pair);
* 9’s, 10’s, Jacks and Queens of different suits;
* 8’s, 9’s, 10’s and Jacks of different suits;
* 9’s, Jacks and Queens;
* 9’s, 10’s and Queens;
* Four-card straight. You should open on no high cards;
* Three-card straight flush, two gaps, two high cards;
* Three-card straight flush, one gap, one high card;
* Three-card straight flush, open, no high cards;
* Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces of different suits;
* Two-card royal flush, two high cards;
* Four-card straight, one gap, three high cards;
* Three-card straight flush, two gaps, one high card;
* Three-card straight flush, one gap, no high cards;
* Jacks, Queens and Kings of different suits;
* Two high cards of different suits. Discard the Ace if you have three high cards;
* Two-card royal flush with 10 and no Ace;
* One high card;
* Three-card straight flush, two gaps, no high cards;
* Nothing. You should draw five cards.
