Beat blackjack and walk away with a considerable profit

May 31, 2007

The game of Blackjack is extremely entertaining and exciting. At times you can do now wrong. You ask for a hit on 16 and you get a 20 or even a 21. You ask for a hit on 17 and you get a 19. Every time you double down you win, you get blackjacks coming like you are an ace magnet, and the dealer busts every time you need him to. The chips are pilling up in front of you and you feel like a genius.

But these lucky streaks will not last forever. Eventually your luck will run out and that is why you must play smart. Only by playing smart can you make sure that you walk away with a profit.

The key to playing smart is maximizing your winnings and minimizing your loses.

Maximize your winnings by following these tips:

- If you keep on winning, it is crucial to also walk away a winner.

You must realize that you will eventually lose. So you must walk away while you are ahead, while you have a profit. Chances are that you will eventually lose, so it is important to know when to pack it in.

Let’s say that you are ahead by 20 units. Take 10 units and put them in your pocket, and wager the remaining 10 units. If you lose you will still get to keep the 10 units you previously put in your pocket.

- Don’t set a limit on your winning sessions.

Let’s say that you are on a winning streak. You keep winning round after round. Just keep putting aside your winnings for the duration of the winning streak. You will be able to walk away a winner, a big winner, even after you have lost your ten unit buffer.

If you want to increase your winnings while you are on a winning streak, simply increase the size of your bet. Just make sure not to go overboard and put your winnings at risk with a couple of big losses. Increase the size of your bet, but do it in moderate increments.

Keep in mind that there is no guarantee you will win the next round simply because you won the previous four in a row. The outcome of the previous round has no bearing on the outcome of this round.

Minimize your losses by following the tips presented below. They will help you save large amounts of your hard earned money.

- Limit your table losses to 20 units.

Let’s say that in each round you wager 5$. In this case you should limit your loss to no more than $100 per session. I know it takes discipline, but you must not chase your loses. This way you will keep from walking away a big loser. Taking a break to clear your head is also a good idea.

- Do not bet more than you can afford.

I believe this bet is self explanatory. Let’s say that you usually bet $5 per round. You can afford to wager this amount of money and you will not miss it if you lose. So keep betting $5, do not start betting $25 per round as you will surely go broke.

- Do not try to recover your loses by increasing the size of your bet.

You will not have better chances of winning just because you have increase the size of your bet. Chances are that you will lose again, just that this time you wagered a lot more money.

The simple truth of the matter is that you are never guaranteed a victory. Winning and losing are part of the game. You cannot lose all the time, and you cannot win all the time. When you win, make the best of it. But when you lose, make sure you do not lose too much.

Lessons in Branding From the Blackjack Table

April 18, 2007

Recently, during one of my trips to Las Vegas, I was asked to sit in on a game of Blackjack. Honestly, I’m not really into gambling but this was a nice opportunity to find out some interesting Blackjack tips, so I decided to join the group as an observer
So, here are 3 important tips which apply directly to branding:

 Remain constant:

Is clear that in general all famous brands are consistent in how they promote themselves and in what they communicate to their clients. In other words, they have a responsible and responsive image. Consequently, changing up your system in Blackjack isn’t such a great idea.

In branding, being inconsistent causes your audience not only to be confused about your position, but it also makes it harder for you to build trust.

Therefore, authenticity is a very important aspect that should be taken into consideration if you want to generate brand trust and loyalty.

If you design your brand position focusing only on exceptional skills, talents and wise actions, you communicate a reliable message. It is only when you appeal for slick sales strategies that you lose your authenticity and reliability.

Analyze the other players and never play at a table where someone clearly plays irresponsibly:

The second key aspect that should be taken into consideration is the process of choosing your brand partners. You have to be very careful when you establish a partnership because associating with another business that does not share your brand standards can harm your brand reputation. Financial expand aspect alone when partnering with another business isn’t enough. You must also think about the intangible losses (or gains) that a brand alignment can cost you.

Respecting your brand and constantly sustaining its values will guide you in choosing your partners. Therefore, if they don’t share your reliable brand values, you probably don’t have matching brands. Experienced Blackjack players know that playing at a table with an irresponsible player can at least cost them their next win.

When you’re losing you really have to be patient:

In the brand design practice, clients often want to see results immediately. But, in order to obtain immediate brand results you need commitment and patience. Why? Because in business, we frequently want big results and big profits but aren’t willing to commit to the process to get there.

Actually there is no “overnight success” All great talents became famous and respected through knowledge and practice. Being great necessitates a commitment to excellence.

A Blackjack replacement

March 16, 2007

There is a Blackjack controversy in the casinos our days, and this is because payouts for the Single Deck Blackjack have been changed from 3:2 to 6:5, meaning that the player will receive less in case of a win. In the case of a 20$ bet he won’t receive 30$ like he would had won before but 24$.

Many consider Single Deck Blackjack as the most profitable game for them but they don’t realize that the House’s Edge makes the game advantageous for the casino.  The house’s edge represents the ratio of the likely return against the likely loss. Let’s take this following example: a bet with a winning probability of 0.1157 which wins 7 to 1 has the expected return on a 10 unit bet of 80 x 0.1157, which means 9.256. If we divide this by the stake, which is the possible loss, we get: 9.256/10 = 0.9256. We subtract this from 1 to get the house edge. Now on this bet the house edge is 7.44% ((1 - 0.9256) = 0.07447 = 7.44%)

The player is more advantaged if the edge is closer to 0. The Single Deck Blackjack has a 0.6% house edge, which is the lowest in a casino. This changes in the 6:5 Blackjack because the edge is 2.5 times the original edge, which is 1.5%.

This is the reason why many players stopped playing Blackjack and turned to other games. One great game that could be played instead of Blackjack is Pai Gow Poker. Pai Gow poker is a mixture of dominoes and poker; it is played with a 52 cards deck but it also has a joker.

The purpose of the game is two make two better hands than the ones of the dealer. You will receive 7 cards and you have to split them into two hands: the back (containing 5 cards) and the front (containing 2 cards). In order to win the back must rank higher than the front; otherwise the hand is not valid.

You will win 1:1 for your bet if you both your hands are higher than the dealer’s, but the casino takes a 5% commission on your every win. If you win only one hand, then it’s a tie, and if you lose both hands the dealer wins.

The house edge is the same as in 6:5 Blackjack. At Fortune Palace you can find more about the Big Four Chinese games (Pai Gow Poker, Sic Bo, Keno and Punto Banco – Baccarat). You can read the rules, strategies and odds for each of these games and you can play the games for free, to practice without any risks. We have displayed the poker hand rankings to make is simple for the beginners. Play Pai Gow Poker if you are tired if Blackjack and you won’t regret it.
